Description
This plugin allows the users to write simple posts outside the dashboard (just like QuickPress from the Dashboard).
It adds a “Quickpress” submenu under /blog form which you can easily add a post to any of your blogs.
!This is an alpha release, please check Known Bugs at the end of this post.
Installation
Usage
Just use the submenu Blogs>Quickpress under the user options of the blogs component.
From there, you can select a blog where you want to post; add a title, a text, tags and categories; then post it -without having to use the blog Dashboard.
Capabilities
This plugin checks the user’s capabilities.
That means that the user will not see the Quickpress submenu if he isn’t allowed to write on at least one blog (capability edit_posts); and that the post will not be published if he can’t do it (capability publish_posts).
If he can write a post but not publish it, the post will be saved as pending.

Autosuggest
The tags input uses jQuery and ajax (from the WP core) to make autosuggestions, but seems it does not work (but the query seems to be done). Maybe we have to wait WPMU 2.9 for this.
Redirection
When posting elsewhere that on the default (main) blog; the redirection after the post as been published, is broken. (~ line 290 of bp-quickpress.php)
Blogs list
Blogs list do not show if i’m not logged as admin (maybe this is a role problem ?)

I will probably add some features to this plugin because i need it for my project too.

Hey, this is a good plugin, works well.
I installed it on my blog and was going to make some tweaks, but then it occurred to me to use press this.
A very small amount of coding was required and now users can bring up a popup straight from the site menu and blog.
This might not be the way you want to take this plugin (fair enough if so), but the advantage is you’re using wordpress integrated features.
btw, if you’d like the code I used I’d gladly mail it to you.
I’m having an issue after installing the plugin. When I attempt to go to the blog/quickpress URL, I’m redirected back to the blog homepage.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I’m very interested in using this plugin and would be happy to support its development if I could get it working.

problem, i can see Quickpress only under admin.

The plugin Rocks. I have been waiting for it. The Quickpress works great from the top admin bar. but if i click on the user and goes to the user profile and then blog -> quickpress. it does not work? is this a known issue or only working like that on my site.
